CHELSEA-SHAY FRIESEN
I'm married to my favorite person, who also happens to be the hottest man alive, Luke. We have two of the cutest little girls in the entire world, Winslett and Brighton, plus two fur babies, Breck & Boulder.
These days when I'm not chasing my girls around I enjoy playing tennis, following Formula 1, and watching baking shows.
Date nights are almost always a decision between sushi or tacos. We also really like to read; mostly YA or rom-coms for me, and some combination of military history or nerdy fiction for Luke.
Designing and organizing spaces has always been my passion and skill. As a kid I would spend hours in my closet, reorganizing it just for fun. I love making a place more beautiful, I still can't believe I get to do it as a job, and I can't wait to work together with you!
Owner & Principal Designer
LUKE FRIESEN
Chief Financial Officer
I'm also married to my favorite person, who happens to be the hottest woman alive, Chelsea. What a coincidence! In our relationship, Chelsea brings the fun, I bring the facts. But hey, facts can be fun too! I love being a dad and parenting our girls together.
Designing and organizing finances and processes has long been my skill. I studied business in undergrad and then got an MBA at Texas A&M, which led me to a really interesting seven-year stint in management consulting. I got to travel across the country and around the world helping companies solve problems and manage complex projects. Since then, I've spent the last decade working at Watermark Community Church, where I'm the Senior Director of Operations. That's still my full-time job, but I love helping Chelsea run the business side of HHDC!
When I'm not doing something business-y, you'll find me with my nose in a book, or on my Peloton bike, lifting weights, or indulging in some kind of baked treat. It's nice to meet you!
SARAH WALKER
Interior Designer & Draftswoman
My passion for design began many moons ago while watching HGTV on repeat as a kid with my mom. I couldn’t get enough, and decided at 12 that this was what I wanted to do. I attended Auburn University and received a Bachelors of Science in Interior Design, and soon landed my first job in Dallas designing commercial office interiors. I took a brief design break to work at my church as the Operations Assistant, but missed flexing my creative design muscles, so when I was promoted to stay-at-home mom I took on a part-time residential design job, and loved getting to learn the residential side of the industry! After baby number 2 came along, I was ready to get back in the game and couldn’t be more excited to now join this team of amazing women, getting to do what I’ve always loved!
Outside of work life, I am married to my best friend, Travis. He never meets a stranger and always keeps me laughing. Our daughter Hattie is shaping up to be a creative and imaginative little girl. We also have a baby boy Wyatt, who is a delightfully chunky and happy (not so) little guy.
I’m thrilled to be working alongside this crew of women and can’t wait to get to know you and serve you in your next project!
TAYLOR DAVIS
Interior Designer
Dallas has been my home for the last 5 years, but I am a Louisiana girl at heart! I worked on the vendor side of the home interiors industry for over four years, which led me to this incredible position as Designer! God has been so kind in providing the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful team. Being a Designer fills both my organization and creative cup— what more could I want?
Home Interiors and fashion have always been my passion. Outside of my time as a Designer I own an online women’s clothing boutique which allows me to keep my hand in the fashion industry! Friends and family are my world, and my niece and nephew are the cutest things on the planet. I might be a little biased, but if you saw them, you really couldn’t blame me!
I absolutely love sharing a meal with others, coffee with friends, and going on walks. If we aren’t trying something new, you can typically find me and my husband at R&D Kitchen or Hudson House on the weekends.
I hope this gives you a glimpse of who I am and how grateful I am to be a part of this team. I can’t wait to help you with your next project!
BRITTANY SMITH
Design Coordinator
I was born and raised in a big family with Dallas roots that run generations deep. I attended Texas A&M University with a Communications degree and a minor in Business. After school, I came home and ran events for Watermark Community Church for 7 years. My giftings and passions merge when it comes to all things's details, organization, and planning. Whether it be a large corporate event or design project, I love to check all the boxes and execute the plans. In 2014, I married a fellow Dallas boy, Daniel, and we now have 3 amazing kids, Savannah, Teddy, and Sage. Daniel is the Director of Real Estate and Development for a firm in Dallas, so our date nights often look like Tex-Mex and dreams that are executed over a spreadsheet. My free time looks like coaching my kids sports, working out, and doing puzzles. Mostly, we love traveling with our kids! They might still be young, but it doesn’t stop us from teaching them to snow ski, hiking in the mountains or playing at the beach. I love working at HHDC because it's a perfect fit for my passion for details and organization to the team
CHANTEL CAVE
Draftswoman
I was born and raised in a farming community in rural Nebraska. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Design from the University of Nebraska where I met my husband, Jason. After we graduated, we got married, moved cities, and started new jobs within the span of four months. Not long afterwards, we bought our first home, started remodeling it and began having children. After our four children arrived, we moved from the cold upper Midwest to Texas. Throughout their early childhood years, I have been blessed to be able to stay home and homeschool our children.
My hobbies include baking, cooking, gardening, raising chickens, biking, lifting and spending quality time with family and friends. Jason and I love discussing design projects together. He is an architect whose practice serves municipal clients in the DFW metroplex. We also love food and enjoy exploring great restaurants in the area and cooking together in our kitchen. As a family we enjoy Dodger baseball, Cornhusker football, camping, skiing, and exploring the great outdoors.
As our children enter their teenage years, I’m looking to re-enter the design profession and serve clients alongside a wonderful team of encouraging women. I can’t wait to help with your next project!
